Montessori Program for Preschool and Kindergarten

Classical Education for grades 1-5 with expansion up to 8th grade in subsequent years

Our Mission

Our mission is simple: to provide a high-quality classical education in partnership with parents, in the Tradition of the Catholic Faith.

We believe that a strong moral and spiritual foundation is essential to true education, guiding students to grow in wisdom, character, and virtue. We aim to guide each student to become a well-rounded individual—intellectually curious, morally grounded, and spiritually strong. Through our hybrid model, we support both home and school learning, creating a flexible, family-centered environment where children can thrive.

Our Educational Approach

A Classical Education

Classical education is not a new idea—it’s a time-tested approach to learning that has shaped some of the greatest minds in history. The goal of a classical education is to form the whole person: mind, body, and spirit. Our curriculum emphasizes the study of classical literature, the development of critical thinking, and the cultivation of eloquent written and spoken expression. Students are challenged to grow not only in knowledge, but also wisdom and virtue.

Our educational approach is built around the Three Stages of Classical Education:

  1. Grammar (K-4th): Building a solid foundation in reading, writing, and arithmetic.
  2. Logic (5th-8th): Developing critical thinking and reasoning skills.
  3. Rhetoric (9th-12th): Cultivating the ability to express oneself with clarity and eloquence, both in writing and speech.

Mother of Hope will open grades Pre-K 3 through 5th grade in Fall 2025, and expand to add one grade each subsequent year up through 8th grade.

We honor the individuality of each student, tailoring education to meet their specific needs while adhering to the timeless principles of classical learning.

A Charlotte Mason-Inspired Approach

Inspired by the teachings of British educator Charlotte Mason, we aim to nurture the whole child through an education that honors their natural curiosity and love for learning. While we don’t adhere strictly to Mason’s methods, we draw from her philosophy to incorporate some of her key principles, including:

  • Short, high-quality lessons appropriate for each child’s age and development.
  • Living books: literature that expands the mind and enriches the imagination.
  • Narration: Encouraging children to articulate what they have learned through oral narration.
  • Nature study: Spending time outdoors to foster wonder and curiosity about the natural world.
  • The cultivation of good habits: Instilling virtues and positive habits that will last a lifetime.

We aim to preserve the wonder of childhood, balancing academic rigor with time for play, exploration, and rest. Students will enjoy daily outdoor time and frequent breaks throughout the school day, so their minds and bodies can remain active and engaged in learning.

The Hybrid Homeschool Model

Our hybrid homeschool model is designed to combine the best of school-based instruction and home-centered learning, giving families the flexibility they need while providing structure and accountability. Here’s how it works:

  • Two days of in-school instruction each Thursday and Friday, 9 AM – 2:30 PM.
  • Three days of at-home learning on your schedule, with curriculum guidance provided by the academy.
  • Parents serve as the primary educators at home, guiding their children through foundational subjects like reading, writing, arithmetic, and history. The school complements the basics taught at home, and covers science, music, art, Latin, catechesis, and more, ensuring a comprehensive and well-rounded education.
  • Teachers maintain close contact with parents through regular communication, ensuring a seamless transition between home and school learning.

This model allows families to enjoy the benefits of a rigorous education while being able to tailor learning to the unique needs of their children. Parents are empowered as the key figures in their children’s education, while teachers provide consistent support and guidance.

Faithfully Catholic

At Mother of Hope Hybrid Academy, our Catholic identity shapes everything we do. We seek to form students in the person of Jesus Christ, integrating faith with learning at every stage. We understand that the goal of education is not just to impart knowledge, but to shape hearts and souls. Our academy is a supportive, close-knit community where families and teachers work together to form the next generation of faithful, virtuous leaders.

Daily Mass is offered before each school day for those families and students who wish to attend.

What Makes Us Different

In the Lehigh Valley, there is a growing demand for a school that offers something different—a school that reflects both the needs of today’s families and the timeless principles of the Catholic Faith. We are building an educational community that combines the best of classical tradition with innovative teaching methods to meet the needs of today’s children. Here’s how:

Classical Curriculum

We use materials that inspire the mind and nurture the soul, grounded in truth, beauty, and goodness.

Outdoor Education & Movement

Research shows that physical activity boosts learning and well-being. Each day, students spend time outdoors to play, explore, and engage in nature-based science lessons, experiencing the wonder of God’s creation firsthand.

Screen-Free Learning

We avoid screens in favor of hands-on learning. Students practice cursive, engage with quality literature, and build meaningful connections with those around them—helping them develop better focus and retention.

Family-Focused

Our hybrid model empowers parents by giving them more time and influence in their children’s education. We honor parents as the primary educators and provide the support of a like-minded community, strengthening both family and academic life.

Preserving Childhood

We prioritize a balanced school week that nurtures the physical, emotional, and intellectual development of children, allowing them the time to learn, play, and grow at home, just as many adults have discovered better balance in their lives through the flexibility of working from home.

A School Day Built for Children

We don’t seek to replicate traditional schools. Our approach is informed by the latest developmental research and the teachings of our Faith, offering a hands-on, nurturing environment where children thrive both academically and spiritually.

At Mother of Hope Hybrid Academy, we offer a unique educational experience that harmonizes faith, academics, and childhood, meeting the needs of today’s families.

A Community of Support

At Mother of Hope Hybrid Academy, we are more than just a school—we are a community of families. Our goal is to walk alongside each family in their journey of education, faith, and growth. From personal interactions with teachers to regular updates on your child’s progress, we ensure that parents are involved every step of the way.

We also believe in creating a close-knit community, where families support one another in their educational and spiritual growth. We will offer opportunities for fellowship, prayer, Sacraments, and service, building a strong foundation of Catholic friendship and support.
